ILA Social Value Tasks have now been over taken by Karen Herbert, highlighting the importance of Social Value to our residents.
Karen is now responsible for developing and delivering community projects and social impact strategy for ILA. She will be supporting our Head of Community Value, as well as helping to grow appropriate internal and external stakeholder engagement, partnerships and programmes, so that we can continue to meet our contractual obligations.
Karen commented on her appointment:
“Social Value activities aren’t just a nice thing to do. We have contractual obligations to deliver additional value to the residents and communities where we work, with financial penalties if we don’t fulfil them.
Social Value isn’t rocket science but it does require strategic thinking, passion and energy, which I will bring to our teams. They will be working alongside our contracts managers to identify the most effective way to meet the Social Value targets set by our clients. This might mean delivering career talks at local schools or offering work placements. Equally, it could involve developing an eco-friendly project or providing funds for much-needed resources. In every case, we are looking to meet the needs of the residents and communities where we work, not just tick a box where the client is concerned.
Social Value can make a really positive difference and, although it may take effort, it can also feel incredibly rewarding and worthwhile for everyone involved.”
